WHAT TO EXPECT
- Drink lots of water in the days prior to your appointment.
- Avoid sun exposure for a few weeks prior to your appointment.
- Scale back on topical exfoliants, including acids and retinoids, in the days leading up to your appointment.
- If you opted for numbing, your provider will apply numbing cream to the area prior to treatment. You won’t feel any pain, however you may feel warmth or a zapping sensation.
- If you get cold sores, let your provider know so they can prescribe a preventative medication.
- Your skin may appear red and feel hot to the touch immediately after treatment.
- We’ll send you home with some ice. Keep the ice on the area of treatment directly after your appointment, and continue icing as needed to soothe redness and cool off your complexion.
- Dryness, peeling, and darkening of treated areas of the skin are all normal post-treatment.
- Go without makeup the day and night of your treatment.
- Apply sunscreen like it’s your job — regularly and thoroughly!
- Use only the skincare goodies we provided for the first week post-treatment. Avoid exfoliating or using any products with active ingredients until your skin is completely back to normal — generally you may return to your regular skincare routine 7-10 days after treatment.
- Reach out to us if you experience a rash, severe breakout, or anything unusual after your procedure. We're here for you!
