WHAT TO EXPECT
As with any medical grade treatment, bruising can happen. Here are some tips to avoid potential bruising:
- Drink lots of water in the days prior to your appointment.
- Take arnica tablets two days before and after treatment. You can find these at most health food stores.
- Avoid alcohol a day or two before your treatment (sorry!)
- Avoid Aspirin, Ibuprofen, fish oil, and Vitamin E for 10-14 days prior to treatment.
- If you opted for numbing, your provider will apply numbing cream to the area prior to treatment. You won’t feel any pokes or pain, however you may feel slight pressure where threads are being inserted.
- You may experience swelling in the area where threads were placed— this should subside within 48 to 72 hours of treatment.
- Bruising may appear in the hours after your appointment and last up to a week post-treatment, and will gradually subside.
- If you want a facial be sure to book it before this treatment, not after.
- Apply an ice pack to the threaded area as needed to help reduce swelling.
- Wear sunscreen to protect your skin after treatment.
